The Ironwood Area Historical Society houses the Research Center at the Depot. The library and archives collection includes photos, maps, rare books, manuscripts, scrapbooks, newspapers, current event files, magazines, diaries, correspondence, business ledgers, personal papers, genealogy sources, a Microfilm Reader and microfilm from the Ironwood Daily Globe and other local newspapers dating back to 1922. This remarkable collection includes postcards, albums, and other graphic materials, such as architectural drawings, charts, plat books and thousands of photographic images help reflect life in the Ironwood area of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The collection of the library and archives is very diverse with resources for everyone. Extensive collections of books, manuscripts, serials, pamphlet files, scrapbooks in our archives provide you with original source material.
